Teeth Whitening Options

Professional In-Office & Take-Home Treatment

We offer both professional in-office whitening with UV and take-home whitening. In-office whitening uses powerful chemicals and UV light to provide you with a brighter smile in just 60 minutes. This is great if you need fast results for a special occasion.

Take-home whitening is a little different. Your dentist in Reno, NV will build a set of custom whitening trays for you, then you’ll follow her instructions to whiten your smile in the comfort of your own home. Take-home whitening takes longer than in-office treatment, but is more convenient and provides the same amazing results.

Comprehensive Cosmetic Dental Care

Dental Bonding & Enameloplasty

Dental bonding uses a special kind of dental resin, which is applied directly to the teeth to reshape them and cover up cosmetic flaws. It’s affordable and offers fast results.

It’s often used alongside enameloplasty, which involves using a special tool to smooth out minor flaws in the teeth, such as points, chips, and uneven teeth.

Veneers

Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that fit over the fronts of your teeth and cover up chips, gaps, discolored teeth, and other flaws. They are one of the longest-lasting cosmetic treatments available, and provide excellent results. However, they are not reversible, since some of your enamel must be removed in the process.

In-Office Teeth Whitening

If you need a quick whitening boost for professional photos or special events, nothing compares to a professional teeth whitening treatment in the dental chair. Dr. Dean will apply a protective gel to your gums to protect them from any interaction with the whitening agent and a cheek retractor will be placed in your mouth to hold it open.

Each of your teeth will be coated with a whitening gel that contains hydrogen or carbamide peroxide and then activated with UV light. The UV light helps the whitening gel break down surface stains. After treating all of your teeth, we will rinse out the whitening agent and you’ll enjoy a set of pearly white teeth up to 10 shades lighter within a single one-hour appointment.

Take-Home Teeth Whitening

If you’re short on time, have a hectic schedule, or are always needing to multitask, take-home whitening treatments would be more convenient for you. You don’t even have to leave your house to lighten your teeth!

We’ll need you to come in for an appointment for teeth impressions so we can send them to the dental lab that will create custom-made whitening trays that fit snugly over your teeth and don’t come into contact with your gums.

When these are ready, you’ll return to the office to pick them up and from there, you can complete the treatment at home. You will receive written instructions on how to apply the whitening gel to the trays and how long to keep them in for. Take-home whitening achieves similar results to in-office whitening, but with more gradual results. You will wear the trays every day for about 2 weeks.

Dental Bonding

Repair damage and improve the appearance of your teeth with dental bonding. By bonding composite resin onto your tooth enamel, we can rebuild the structure of your teeth to fill in chips, cracks, and cover-up worn-down enamel. Bonding can also be used to improve tooth discoloration, fill in gaps, and alter the shape, length, and size of your teeth to fit your preferred aesthetic. The composite resin is matched to your natural tooth color and blends in very naturally with your other teeth.

Enameloplasty

Enameloplasty or tooth recontouring is the process of reshaping one’s teeth by removing a small amount of tooth enamel. This is often done in preparation for another cosmetic treatment, such as dental bonding or the placement of veneers or dental crowns.

Enameloplasty can help blend in crowns and veneers with your natural teeth by ensuring they don’t stick out. Filing down your enamel also helps the bonding process. Tooth recontouring may also be performed on teeth that are too long, too sharp, or oddly shaped to create a more seamless appearance.

Veneers

Veneers are tooth-colored porcelain shells that are bonded onto the front surface of your front teeth to improve the appearance of cosmetic imperfections. Common aesthetic issues that veneers can cover include discoloration, chips or cracks, gaps, misaligned teeth, teeth that are too small, too pointy, or oddly shaped.

While veneers don’t alter the actual structure of your natural teeth (other than removing some of your natural enamel), they do cover up these problems by bonding the veneers over your teeth so no one can see them, creating the illusion of a perfect smile.

Botox

While Botox is usually considered to be a purely cosmetic treatment, it can also alleviate the painful symptoms of teeth grinding and TMJ, such as headaches, jaw and tooth pain, tension in the face and neck, and reduces the incidence of jaw clenching and grinding.

Whether you’re looking to improve these symptoms or just want to minimize the appearance of facial lines to improve your smile, Botox is an incredibly effective tool that is completely temporary, so it doesn't require a big commitment.
